Where is the Bay of Pigs?

The Bay of Pigs (in French, "la Baie des Cochons") is a specific stretch of the naturist beach at Cap d'Agde, located a few metres north of Héliopolis beach, inside the Naturist Village. It's a local nickname, not an official place name on any map, but one every regular knows and uses — which is why so many people search for it directly on Google without knowing exactly where to place it before their first stay.

A distinctive reputation

The Bay of Pigs is known as the Village's libertine playground. This stretch of beach draws couples looking for a more assertive, outdoor atmosphere, away from the more family-oriented areas of the rest of the naturist beach. It's precisely this reputation — combined with the fact that it's clearly identified and located — that explains the volume of searches for this specific spot.

Its "risqué" reputation naturally keeps families away, who prefer the rest of the naturist beach for their seaside holidays. It's the same principle as mélangisme: everyone chooses their spot based on the atmosphere they're after, without one crowd imposing itself on another.

What's tolerated, and what isn't

Exhibitionism on this stretch of beach isn't officially authorised — full nudity, on the other hand, is the norm across the whole naturist beach, as it is everywhere in the Village. In practice, complaints and fines here are rare. That doesn't mean anything goes without limit: as everywhere at Cap d'Agde, the rule that prevails is mutual respect and consent — watching, being watched or taking part all remain choices, never obligations, for you or for anyone else.

Should you go?

It depends what you're after. If you're visiting as a family or for classic naturism, the rest of the beach — further from Héliopolis, towards Port Nature or Port Ambonne — suits a quieter atmosphere better.
